Numerical Analysis

The course is intended to fourth semester students and aims at developing basic numerical methods skills. It is based on a two hours per week tutorial plus three hours per week laboratory sessions.

The following subjects are covered:

1. Introduction
2. Error Analysis
3.Numerical Differentiation
4. Numerical Integration
5. Interpolation/Extrapolation
6. Numerical solution of algebraic equations
7. Numerical solution of linear systems
8. Numerical Integration of Ordinary Differential Equations
9. Finite Differences
10. Special Topics.

 

There are 10 laboratory sessions covering the above mentioned material.

Final grading is based only on the final examination. On top of this, there is an optional homework grade, for those obtain grade >= 5 at the written exams.
